Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 20, 2026

Liftoff (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a space‑launch tracking app. This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. Liftoff does not require an account and never asks for your name, email, or any personal information.

Information we do not collect

Information handled on your device

Notifications: If you enable launch reminders, those reminders are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. We do not receive or store your reminder choices on our servers.

App preferences (such as whether you’ve completed the intro) are stored locally on your device only.

Information handled by our backend

Liftoff displays publicly available spaceflight data. To deliver this quickly and reliably, the app fetches pre‑cached public data from our backend (hosted on Supabase). When your device requests this data:

AI‑generated summaries

Some launch descriptions (“What this mission means”) are plain‑English summaries generated with Anthropic’s Claude AI. These are generated in advance on our backend from public launch information and then cached — none of your personal data is sent to Anthropic.

Third‑party data and links

Spaceflight data and imagery are provided by The Space Devs (Launch Library 2), the Spaceflight News API, and NASA. When you open a webcast or article link, you may be taken to a third‑party website governed by its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for those services.

Children’s privacy

Liftoff does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
